I never understood why people said that their 30s were some of the best years of their lives…until I turned 30 this year.

I’m not joking when I say that your mindset completely changes when you turn 30. It’s like a light gets switched on and suddenly all the things that you thought were important (I.e. going out to the bars, clubs, drinking every weekend) suddenly are no longer important or as important to you.

Now I know not everyone will feel the same as I do, but that’s okay. We are all in different stages in our life.

Being 30 is so so so different. It’s almost hard to explain – but it’s just this feeling of life actually starting. Your focus on things change; they do a complete 180°.

For instance in my 20s (like many people I’m sure) I was partying, hanging out with my friends and always had something to do every weekend. Now I prefer to stay home or in on the weekends. I like to have dinner and a few drinks with friends and family or go bowling or some type of activity and then head home.

My mindset is totally different. I’m ready to settle down, get married, buy a home, have kids, travel and make memories with my closest friends and family.

Being 30 is weird, feeling old but still young, a different mindset, and completely amazing! I can’t wait to see what the rest of my 30’s hold for me 😄
